Jobbik Elects Infamous Anti-Semite as New President
Perhaps many of our readers remember the sentences of Márton Gyöngyösi that caused outrage in 2012 – writes Mandiner of Márton Gyöngyösi, Jobbik MEP, who has recently been elected as president of the far-right party.
As many newspapers reported at the time, the politician from Jobbik once managed to say the following in parliament:
“Now is the time to assess the number of people of Jewish origin living here, and especially in the Hungarian Parliament and the Hungarian government, who pose a certain national security risk to Hungary. I think that Hungary needs such a survey”
– Gyöngyösi underlined at the time. His party did not distance itself from the politician’s words at the time.
